Emma Plotnik is an Associate Attorney at Tyler Law, LLP in the litigation department. During her time at Tyler Law, Emma has represented individuals, churches, and both for-profit and nonprofit corporations in a variety of civil matters, including real property litigation, corporate governance disputes, breach of contract claims, and constitutional litigation. She also provides pre-litigation services to clients, advising them of strategies to assess and mitigate the potential for litigation and/or encourage early resolution of matters outside of court. Emma is known for her creative and detail-oriented legal research methods and her personalized approach to client communications.
Prior to joining Tyler Law, Emma worked for a complex litigation firm, representing insurance carriers, private individuals, and businesses in personal injury, catastrophic injury, and real property matters. Her wide-ranging experience includes automobile liability, premises liability, trucking/transportation, housing/habitability, trespass/nuisance issues, water rights/environmental law, construction defect, and landslide liability.
Emma graduated from the Regent University School of Law, where she was awarded a full-tuition academic scholarship. At Regent, Emma received the Ronald L. Fick Book Award for earning the highest grade in State Civil Pretrial Practice and Procedure. She was also a selected oralist and brief writer for the Touro Law Center National Moot Court Competition in Law and Religion.
Before attending law school, Emma worked in marketing and development for an award-winning nonprofit arts and cultural center. She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Chapman University and was a vocalist for the university’s opera program. During her time at Chapman, Emma also interned in the criminal defense division of a national law firm and won numerous faculty awards and fellowship grants, including the Kevin and Tam Ross Undergraduate Research Prize, the Music History Award, and the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
